Open Cell.

Generally we recommend open cell foam insulation for areas that are not exposed to the elements. One of the benefits of open cell foam is it expands enough to cover the little nooks and crannies between studs, boards and hard to reach areas. This type of foam insulation is great for inside homes, attics, etc.

Closed Cell.

Closed cell foam insulation is usually recommended for areas that are more exposed to the weather. The benefit of closed cell is it acts as an air and moisture barrier. Closed cell has very little expansion and is much denser than open cell. We recommend this type of foam insulation for barns, shops, under homes, etc.
